Trying to pick the right topic or niche but feeling a bit overwhelmed? It doesn’t have to be that hard! Here’s a great trick that you can steal, to help choose the best topic online.
Steal This Trick: What Confident Content Marketers All Have in Common
There are a million techniques that make your content better and more popular.
Strong headlines, smart copywriting techniques, storytelling, humor, etc. But there’s one insider trick that makes the rest of it easy.
It starts from the very beginning, when you’re figuring out what type of content you want to produce.
Start by picking a crowded topic
Copywriter Gary Halbert famously advised copywriters to look for a “starving crowd.”
In other words, if you want to open a restaurant, put it where there are already plenty of people who want exactly what you offer. If you’re creating a digital business, choose a niche that lots and lots of people want to know more about.
Why are there so many blogs about technology, weight loss, marketing, and celebrities?
Because there are millions of people who want to read about those topics every day.
While you may want to find a little niche that you can completely own, there are two problems with making yourself a big fish in a small pond.
You’ll always be looking over your shoulder for some punk kid to come along and beat you at your own game. When you choose a tiny topic, you set a limit on how big — and profitable — you’ll ever be able to get.
Nobody goes there anymore, its too crowded
If just picking a “me-too” topic was enough, everyone would have a successful website.
But it’s hard to stand out.
It’s relatively easy to rank in the search engines for “naked mole rats.” It’s damned hard to get a page-one ranking for “weight loss” or “learn forex trading.”
Instead of being a big fish in a small pond, allow me to suggest another approach.
Be a small, ridiculously evolved, very rare and weird fish in a great big pond.

Think you might have a great product idea, but want to be sure? Here are six ways you can validate your product idea, so you don’t end up wasting time, money, and energy on it.
6 Ways to Validate a Product Idea Before You Waste Your Time and Money
Validating a product idea: an all-important step to take to avoid wasting time and money building a product nobody wants.
It seems like an obvious thing to do, however many times it’s a step that gets pushed aside.
Why? It could be because:
- We think we already know what our audience wants and will pay for.
- We’re anxious to actually begin creating something and rush through the research phase.
- We don’t know how to validate.
- A combination of all of the above.
I’m fascinated by the idea of product validation – spending time upfront to confirm that what it is we’re about to build is actually something people want and are willing to pay for.
In this post, we’re going to explore 6 ways to help you make sure that what you’re thinking of selling will sell.
1. Share Your Idea
The biggest mistake people make when creating a product of any kind is keeping the idea to themselves. You must share your idea with others.
The more you share your idea, the better that idea becomes. or the more apparent that the idea is not a good one. Share it with friends, family, people in your mastermind group, people in your community and even complete strangers!
2. Find Products Like it That Already Exist
Most people think competition is bad – especially if someone else has “beat you to it” and built and marketed your product before you.
Entrepreneurs, however, know that competition is a good thing – especially if you find a product like yours before you spend time and money to create it.
Why? Because someone else has already spent the time and money to validate that idea for you!
Wondering what it takes to get people to buy from you? Here are a few things you need to offer to get the best chance of making that sale!
Your Product Idea: Get started selling – Getting People to Buy
What do people really want when they first meet you or reach out to you?
What makes them choose your product over someone else’s?
How do you prepare for getting people to buy? (Or, in the language I teach…to “own” the benefits of your products.)
Heaven knows the market is jam packed with incredible products. The specific answers to those questions can only come from satisfied consumers and your upline and downline team members. However, I can address the general answers to help you get started with acquiring a large volume of satisfied clients in the first place and secondly to start growing your network marketing business.
We all want the same things when doing business with people.
We want quality products and good service at a low investment. That’s the bottom line. Is that what you provide? If so, shout it from the rooftops!
However, few companies can provide all three. With that being the case, you will need to learn how to address which of the three you don’t provide.
If you provide quality and service, but not at the lowest investment, your products and service better be exceptional. Everyone understands the value of using great products. There is a perceived value for excellent service as well. People actually don’t mind spending a little more money for something if they feel the service is great.
